Paying Bakso with Beautiful Words
One day, a friend from Malaysia enthusiastically explained to me the beauty of the Indonesian language.
However, as a Japanese person who doesn’t share the same background and culture, I found it quite difficult to truly grasp the reality embedded in that language.
Even so, my friend said that this language has a beautiful way of connecting with nature—through metaphors and rhyme.
I also felt a certain resemblance to Japanese, yet there’s still something uniquely its own—something essential to learn as a human being.
So, please “pay” for this bakso with your beautiful Indonesian words.
A cultural capital full of beauty.
To all the local people who have helped me during my one-month stay here—
With heartfelt gratitude.
